My latest completed proofreading project for Pen & Sword Books was something a little different from my normal subject matters, the title being ‘Discovering Lost Automobiles and their Stories’. Written by motoring journalist Michael Ware, the manuscript is made up of many different stories about what is known in the historical car world as ‘barn finds’, these being old vehicles that, for a variety of reasons, were stored in indoor premises, rediscovered and then, in many cases, restored to their former glories. Mr Ware has written on this subject for the motoring press for many years, and this book is a collection of the ‘best’ of these stories. The cars featured are many and varied, ranging from Classic Minis to Rolls-Royces, commercial vehicles, sports cars and even freelance designs from private individuals. A modern form of treasure hunting!
