As mentioned on the home page of this website, Jacett Proofreading Services has been established in order to provide a practical, flexible and cost-effective freelance proofreading service to any private individual, company or voluntary group. Murray Eckett will be happy to look at any work of a proofreading nature that is submitted to him. Murray will look to work with all clients in order to provide a top-quality product that satisfies both parties within a suitable timescale.
Murray is an associate member of the Society for Editors and Proofreaders, his membership number being 13723.
As an author of three non-fiction titles, Murray also has experience of this side of the book publishing industry.
Since obtaining his proofreading qualification at the end of 2013, Murray has successfully completed more than eighty proofreading projects. Some of these have been one-off manuscripts, but the majority have been undertaken on behalf of three publishing companies, namely Pen & Sword Books, The History Press and Pitch Publishing. All projects were completed within tight timescales and to the satisfaction of the editorial managers concerned.
The subjects covered within the majority of the above-mentioned projects were a combination of military history, professional sport and transport. Murray counts aviation, railways, modern military history, football and cricket amongst his hobbies, and can look at projects covering these subjects with a degree of personal knowledge as well as proofreading ability.
