A recent proofreading project that I have successfully completed was one for Crecy Publishing, this being Southern Way 51. I have worked on a number of previous editions of this magazine and hope to work on further editions in the future. The magazine appears four times per annum and is made up of articles all with a ‘Southern Railway’ theme, although features can also be about the pre-1923 companies and the post-1948 system, as well as the Southern Railway itself. One unusual item in SW51 was about some of the testing work carried out on the ill-fated ‘Leader’ steam locomotive of the late 1940s. Other articles included station architecture on the Chessington branch in South London and Southern Region publicity of the 1970s – as I mentioned before, a wide miscellany of subject matter!
