Recent proofreading activity

Following my visit to the London Book Fair on 10.4.18, I have been fortunate enough to receive three proofreading projects from Pen & Sword Books. Two of these were on railway subjects, one of which dealt with the life of a senior railway engineer working on the North Staffordshire Railway, the London, Midland and Scottish Railway and British Railways, the time period being from 1902 to 1951. The second railway project was a look at the life and times of a group of mixed traffic steam locomotives that ran on the former Southern Railway.

In complete contrast, the third project was one detailing the Irish Potato Famine of the late 1840s and early 1850s. Although I had heard of the Famine, I did not know any details, therefore the manuscript that I worked on was of considerable interest.

I am looking to expand my freelance proofreading activities – please feel free to contact me via my website, jacett.co.uk

Working in conjunction with two friends, I am also beginning work on a new book project, this being entitled ‘Steam Locomotives of my Lifetime’. More details to follow.
