Railways of Oxford

I have today completed a further proofreading project for Pen & Sword Books, the subject matter being the ‘Railways of Oxford’. The manuscript describes how the railway system evolved in and around Oxford. The author, Laurence Waters, wrote a previous book on the same subject for Ian Allan Publishing during the 1980s. The new work takes in all that has happened in the time since, not least of which has been railway privatisation. Although some local branch lines were closed in the post-1945 period of time, the railway system of Oxford has remained largely intact and today is busier than ever before. A well written and interesting railway history book.
