In Complete Contrast

My recent proofreading activity highlights, once again, that I seem to be working on a wider variety of subjects. The first of these projects was a railway one, this being a picture book covering the subject of freight trains on the domestic railway system from 1950 to 2018. The location covered was the North of England, with a mixture of steam and diesel traction featured. Emphasis was placed on the ‘old’ type of freight train, of a type that has mostly given way to the container trains of the present day. The pictures were very atmospheric and proved that the humble freight can be the focal point of an excellent picture.

In complete contrast, my second project (both of these being for Pen & Sword Books) covered the subject of ‘Hitler’s Vineyards’. This was a manuscript translated from the French language and covered the issue of collaboration between the domestic wine industry and Germany during the period 1940-44. I would imagine that not much is known about this subject, one that should prove thought provoking to the reader.
