Colourful Contrasts

My latest completed proofreading project for Pen & Sword Books was a picture book entitled Britain’s Changing Train Liveries: Four Decades of Change. Author David Goodyear had drawn together more than two hundred pictures from his collection illustrating the myriad of train liveries to be found in the UK since the early part of the 1980s. Although heritage railways were featured, the majority of the pictures depicted the national network, covering the sectorisation and privatisation eras. What an incredible selection of views, in particular highlighting many TOCs and other organisations that had vanished into history. Locomotives and multiple units featured, from the old to the new and from the ordinary to the spectacular. Mr Goodyear had put together a superb collection of photos, worthy of a place on many a railway enthusiast’s bookshelf.
