A London Variety

Yesterday I completed a further proofreading project for Pen & Sword Books, this latest manuscript being a picture book about London Transport (LT) buses during the 1960s. The illustrations concerned came from the vast collection of prolific author Jim Blake, and covered all through what gradually became a somewhat fraught decade for LT. It would seem that the various designs that were attempting to supplement or replace the famous RFs, RTs and RMs all failed for different reasons, and the old timers kept rolling, the last RMs not leaving regular service in the capital until 2005! Leaving the everyday problems aside, the book, as a collection of pictures, is a worthy one and worth a place on the bookshelves of bus enthusiasts and other historians.
